Hey Family,

Just wanted to touch base with you and thank you all for praying for our friends this week. It has been a real trial and will continue to be for some time. They will appreciate your continued prayer support as God lays it on your hearts and plants the thought in your mind. Their son Steven was 26 and has battled with drugs and alcohol for about 10 years. This has been a tragic end to a long battle. We are praying for the peace of Christ to prevail and for them to be able to find rest and renewal during this time. Pray that they will be encouraged and feel the love of God by those who surround them. Again, thank you!

I am so thankful that we have the opportunity to experience Pentecost Sunday tomorrow as we Gather. Together, let's pray for the power of the Holy Spirit to come upon us and for His presence to be felt amongst His people.

Important update and prayer request

Adsideo Family,

One of Pastor Jim's best friends, Ron Rock, son's passed away this weekend. Pastor left tonight for Bend, OR, where they live, to be available and present for this family in their time of pain and need. Please be in constant prayer for these dear friends and family in the body of Christ. Pastor will be out of town until Monday night at least. Please contact myself or Jen Deale (jendeale@gmail.com) if you have any needs.

Again, please be in prayer with me for this dear family.

Hey everyone,

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Hoping you've had a great week and have had a chance to see the beauty of life that God has planted all around us as reminders of his presence. Whether it was in the smile of a child, or the beauty of blue skies, maybe it was a great cup of coffee, or the bloom of a flower; however He has spoken to you this week it should be pondered and appreciated as we stop to contemplate His creative ability to speak and breath life into us. I am thankful that he reveals himself through the body of Christ and again speaks and breaths into us reviving and filling us full of His courage to take the next step. I can see the fullness of what the author of the book of Hebrews is encouraging His readers to take heed to when he says, "not to neglect meeting together." We are desperate for one another... and must be together to experience the fullness of the "life giver and sustainer." Thanks be to God!

Last week we heard from Jamie Loos one of our Reed Students as he is preparing for his trip to Cairo this summer. Jamie shared with us of his desire to travel with the crew that went to the Sudan earlier this year and that he wasnt able to do, due to various commitments and conflicts. The door has been opened for him to teach English for six weeks to Sudanese refugees in Egypt. He will be leaving soon and is still raising support. If you are interested in helping with that, please email Rachel Reill @ rachaelreill@gmail.com and she will take care of the details. We are thankful for the opportunity to help support Jamie as he dives into to this adventure and explores the possibilities that God has for him/us as he teaches this summer.

Hey Family,

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to spend some time in California this last week at the Wineskins Conference and to spend some time with Rich Reed during his time of trial. Thank you for your support and prayers for this dear brother of ours as his body fights this nasty infection. Please continue to pray for him as he took a difficult turn last night... I left the Emergency Room around 2 a.m. and they were continuing to monitor his heart and blood pressure which had spiked earlier, sending him from the convalescent center back to the hospital. It is good to be home and I am looking forward to catching up with you tomorrow at the Gathering.

Congratulations to all of you moms... you have survived another year : ) Thank you for your examples to all of us as you serve your children, your families, and the Church. Looking forward to celebrating with you and the memory of our mothers tomorrow. Note: (guys, don't forget to call your mom tomorrow, girls, I know you will, and help remind our men. : ). I also, am aware that this time of year can bring to the surface challenging memories of mom for some, together we can be reminded of the many beautiful mothers God has provided for us so we will celebrate the position and posture of motherhood as a part of the function of the body of Christ.

I am thanking God tonight for how the spirit gives gifts to each, to encourage us through the body of Christ. May we continue to discover the depth and beauty of the relationships that await us for His glory.

Thank you for all of the encouraging words after giving the apprentices the opportunity share yesterday morning. We were thankful to get to share little pieces of what we are learning and invite you to journey in our process and challenges along the way. Again, what a special day it was spending it with the Adsideo family, the body of Christ.

Dear family and friends,

Greetings today from Southern Cal. You are dearly missed, but I thank you for the opportunity to spend some time @ this year's Wineskins Conference. I will be thinking about you as you Gather in the morning. My prayers will be for you to be encouraged and refreshed by the time spent together as the Holy Spirit brings you into the same place, with one heart, one mind, and one voice. I am looking forward to hearing about the time of insight that Adsideo's Apprentices share with you as they do so about their spiritual journey of challenge. I have been so thankful to have had the opportunity to be here as the two men sharing with us this weekend are from Kenya, one is a professor at Emanuel School of Religion in Tennessee and the other is a pastor who is studying in the states for a couple of years and will return to his village in Kenya. We have already developed a friendship of brotherhood as they were so excited to hear of our recent trip to the Sudan. They both come from the Kerio Valley and share in a deep love for the Gospel and the transformation of life it has brought to their people. They are encouraged that there are others like our friend Abraham Piok who desire the same hope for his people in Sudan. As I process the privileges we have been given in our own neighborhoods, may we also have the same zeal for the work of the Spirit. Pray with the Apostle Paul for the "eyes of our hearts to be enlightened" to the work of the Gospel of Peace in our world and that we would be filled with the courage to be a witness here and now.

I look forward to connecting soon. We are being well prayed for... be encouraged!

Thanks for a great Gathering Sunday morning. It was great to see all of you and have a full house. Here is this week's info:

4th Wednesday
4th Wednesday is this week and we will be having potluck dinner from 7-8:30 PM at the Living Room. You are invited! Bring a dish that feeds several (about 4). Come and break bread together, be apart of this important gathering with each other as we will be spending time in thanks giving and appreciation. See you there!

Kid's Night at Ramah
Thursday nights from 6:30- 8 PM at The House of Ramah is Kid's night, located at 1606 SE Claybourne, contact me if you have any questions!

5th Friday
Join us this Friday night from 5 PM- 8:30PM downtown at the Portland Rescue Mission to serve our friends a warm meal. There will be good conversation, fun in serving together and great music and people. We will be car-pooling from Sellwood at 4:45, email me if you need help with transportation.

Dear Friends,

Be encouraged as this note finds you drawing near the end of another week. It is with confident expectation that we draw close to one another and it is with the gift of the Holy Spirit that we can find the source of our encouragement. I am thankful for each of you and the opportunity to share our lives together. Thank you so much for giving your lives to one another, as I think back over the last several weeks, it is with fondness. I reflect on the night of bowling, and laughter fills my spirit to think of the Karaoke Night, and with surprise, the memory of Open Mic was full of "harmony", the fullness of living redemption as I think of our graffiti removal efforts, and they are not in vain. It is a beautiful mystery that we have opportunity to move into the life-together story and fulfill the dream of Jesus to love one another. As we think of all the opportunities throughout the course of a week, we have a privilege to be a living encouragement to those around us when we come together as His body and make His will known to this world.

I am looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday at the Gathering. I know that for some, you will serve tonight at the Mission and for others you will gather to serve women downtown tomorrow... Whenever, wherever, however, may we always recognize our privilege to be together, loving and serving.

Please pray for Nate and Sharon Bodenstab as they will be travelling to Germany for the next three months as Nate is interning with Google. We celebrate with the Park family as they welcomed the birth of their grandson this week. A time of reflection and thankfulness as Jana Sanford enjoys her new job and the realization of God's provision. Our brother and friend Chad Bryan has returned safely from Honduras this last week and is doing well as he settles into his new job and life in Nampa, ID.

One Year Later : )

Hey Friends,

Just wanted to touch base before tomorrow rolls around and Daylight Savings kicks in... I don't know what difference that makes other than we may not get as much sleep as we normally do. Hope you remember to set you clocks ahead and enjoy the extra sunshine, (yeah right) cloud cover. : )

Today marks my and Chad's one year anniversary of our accident. This has been an interesting year for all of us; one that has personally taught me many things and has challenged me to look at life and the future little differently. We truly don't know what tomorrow holds and we can't predict the future as we travel through space and time. One thing I do know is that I have been changed through it all. I know that seems to be a "duh ralph" kinda of statement, but really, God has used this experience and continues to use it to show me His wonderful love. I have also seen the beauty of the Church in a whole new light and am intrigued at the depth of the reality of the life-together story. John's gospel records the words of Jesus when he says, "Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other."

I look forward to the opportunity to live into the depth of this vision. However, I am learning about the difficulties of living in the midst of the relational challenges this life-together story can present and am convinced that God has given us the necessary vision through the telling of the story and the teaching presented to us in the Bible. With great resolve I am encouraged to be given the opportunity to travel this trail of mystery and intrigue with you. I have great "hope" (confident expectation) that we will experience the presence of God as we step together in the vision that Jesus had/ has for His Body, the Church.

I am hoping this finds you all in a grace-filled place and that you are experiencing the God of the universe and the Father of all as he reveals His love to you tonight.

Look forward to our conversation tomorrow night at the Gathering as we have an opportunity to share our lives together. As we come together we have the opportunity to be a life conceiver and an encouragement of one another. Thank You!

This Saturday we have an opportunity to travel a piece of the road together as we will be Gathering for a sock.hat.glove.give. day downtown. We will meet at the Rescue Mission on the Burnside Bridge at 10 a.m. and then disperse. Please be gathering giveaways for our friends who are living on the streets, pray for our time spent together and give thanks for the privilege and opportunity we have been invited to by our Lord to join him in mission as he ministers to the brokenhearted.
